Moles and skin lesions
Changes in size, shape, colour, growth, bleeding or a wound that does not heal deserve assessment.
A new lesion, a mole that has changed, acne or a skin change that does not go away?
Not all skin changes are aesthetic.
The first step is to understand what it is, whether it needs investigation and whether it should be monitored, treated or removed.
Diagnosis before any treatment or removal.

Changes in size, shape, colour, growth, bleeding or a wound that does not heal deserve assessment.
It allows skin structures to be observed with specific magnification and lighting and can help decide whether a lesion should be monitored or investigated.
When necessary, a sample can be taken or a lesion removed for microscopic analysis.
Before removal, we assess what type of lesion it is and whether histopathological examination is needed.
We assess comedones, oiliness, inflammatory lesions, nodules, post-inflammatory marks and the risk of scarring.
Not every brown mark is just a «sun spot». First we identify the change. Then we decide whether and how to treat it.
A lesion that grows, changes shape or colour, bleeds, forms a crust or does not heal deserves assessment.
Not every change means serious disease, but it should not be ignored.
When clinical observation is not enough, it may be necessary to take a sample or remove the lesion.
Depending on the characteristics of the lesion, it may be indicated to remove it and/or send it for histopathological examination, which can confirm or establish the diagnosis.
The aim is to control the condition and reduce new lesions and the risk of marks and scars.
Not always.
Depending on the characteristics of the lesion, it may be indicated to monitor it, perform dermatoscopy, biopsy it, remove it and/or send it for histopathological examination.
You do not need to know the name of the change.
